Is the €4,500 a fee?
No. It is capital that stays in your own business. It must remain invested during your first two years.
Do I need a visa to travel to the Netherlands?
No. Americans do not need an MVV entry visa and may wait in the Netherlands for the decision.
Can I work for a Dutch employer?
No. DAFT covers your own business. Working for one client who directs your work may be seen as employment.
Do I need to make a profit?
At first application there is no profit requirement. At renewal the business must be active and the investment must still be in place.
Can my spouse work?
Yes. Your spouse needs no work permit, for a job or their own business.
When can I get permanent residence?
After 5 years of continuous legal residence, if you meet the other conditions – including the civic integration exam.
